I couldn’t help myself! I wanted to stop by Barnes and Noble while the girls and I were out running errands today to look for an Ayurvedic cookbook. The girls didn’t want to go in with me - they had had enough running around by then, but they said if there was something really cool there, to feel free to pick it up for them.
It probably would have been easier for me to ask at the help desk if they had any Ayurvedic cookbooks on the shelf, but instead, I decided to scan the cookbooks and see for myself, as you never know what else might jump out.
And I’m glad I did! Although I didn’t find any Ayurvedic books, I did come across “Primal Cravings: Your Favorite Foods Made Paleo”, by Megan McCullough Keatley and Brandon Keatley. Check out their website here.
I had seen this book on various e-mails and recommendations, and it looked interesting, but I never investigated any further. But when I opened the book and looked at the pictures (which were very well done!), and scanned through the ingredients in the recipes, I knew I had to take this book home with me.
How could I resist with recipes like Cherry Almond Streusel Muffins, Dairy-Free Strawberry Yogurt, Chicken Enchilada Empanadas, Curried Creamed Spinach, and Caramelized Banana Milkshake?
Oh, I forgot to mention the most important part about this book: the more than 125 recipes are grain-free, gluten-free, dairy-optional, nutrient-dense, and Primal/Paleo approved. Even if you don’t have to or don’t choose to eat Paleo, I’d highly recommend this book - the recipes are sure to please even the most hesitant eater.
